Yvonne Clarke - Just Be Holistic Therapies

What’s been happening?

Yvonne Clarke speaking at Success is Simple 8th March 2016Well the lead up to Easter was busy to say the least.  I spoke at a conference on 8th March, did a corporate day with BeWell@UL and the usual appointments in my clinic.   Also, we had full moons, an eclipse and the spring equinox so if you have been feeling a bit all over the place, that is why. Our energy centres have been put into a bit of a spin lately.  Things are settling a bit now but if you feel you need to be grounded or to be centred, contact me for an appointment here

April Case Study – Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS possible causesThis month’s case study focuses on Irritable Bowel Syndrome or as it is more commonly known as IBS.  Symptoms can be quite variable and include tummy (abdominal) pain, bloating, and sometimes bouts of diarrhoea and/or constipation. Diet and exercise of course play a big part but if you have an energy block in the gut it can be released through Reflexology.  Reflexology is very effective for most bowel/colon symptoms as it activates peristalsis (contractions of the bowel walls) to help move things along effectively. One lady started on a course of 4 weekly treatments last November to help relieve her IBS symptoms.  Her Cranio Sacral Therapist recommended Reflexology so she contacted me.  After just 2 treatments of reflexology and a blend of aromatherapy to use at home, her symptoms improved with all symptoms gone after 4 weeks.  She now comes every month for regular treatments to maintain balance and prevent another flare up of IBS.  She can now eat things such as fruit which she had been avoiding.  Even her family have commented on how much more relaxed she is around food and eating. She is also more energetic and now able to do more exercise.   If you or someone you know has IBS, get in touch here

April Top Tip

IBS Massage blend

IBS Massage blend

Staying with the IBS theme some other helpful remedies would be Peppermint or Fennel Tea. Alternatively you could use aromatherapy to help ease symptoms which avoids the digestive tract.  Try this massage oil blend on the tummy to ease symptoms.

In a small glass bottle, mix 60mls of grapeseed or sweet almond oil, 12 drops of chamomile, 12 drops of marjoram and 8 drops of peppermint.  Shake well and then massage over the tummy 2-3 times a day using clockwise circular motions.  But if symptoms persist, get in touch here
