Reflexology for Cancer Patients in Limerick

Reflexology for Cancer Patients in Limerick

Cancer Care Reflexology

So I recently expanded my knowledge and learning by attending a 3 day course on Cancer Care Reflexology.  Here in Limerick, I am a volunteer at the Cancer Support Centre, run by the Mid West Cancer Foundation, at University Hospital Limerick.

Cancer Statistics

Why did I feel the need to attend this course?  Well, according ot the National Cancer Registry Ireland, every 3 minutes in Ireland someone gets a cancer diagnosis. Every hour someone dies from cancer. Incidence of cancer is growing and by

  • By 2020, 1 in 2 people in Ireland will develop cancer during their lifetime.
  • In Ireland 40,000 new cases of cancer or related tumours are diagnosed each year.

While these statistics are a concern, research and medical developments have improved.  More emphasis is now on support and care available to those with a cancer diagnosis and their quality of life.  That’s where myself and other therapists come in by providing the all important support and care.

Benefits of Cancer Care Reflexology

The Irish Cancer Society state that many people find complementary therapies such as Cancer Care Reflexology very helpful in a number of ways. As a cancer patient they may make you feel:

  • More positive about yourself and your illness.
  • Better able to cope with the physical side-effects of cancer and the distressing emotions cancer often brings.
  • More focussed spiritual dimensions, that also aid healing.

‘With cancer survivorship numbers increasing significantly, optimising peoples’ quality of life is a particular focus of patients. This emphasis on quality of life will be central in the implementation of the Strategy.’ Simon Harris, Minister for Health, National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026.

Everyone can support and care for someone with cancer.  One easy way to do this is by purchasing a loving Just Be Gift Voucher for Reflexology that can help improve that person’s quality of life.   Here at the Just Be Clinic, I will support and care for our loved one and help them restore a quality life.

The good news is I will open on Good Friday, 30th March from 10am to 2pm to help alleviate the demand.

What’s been happening

Woo, it’s been busy and we’re all getting into the Christmas feeling.  So much so I’ve been giving away prizes.

I ran a compeition on my facebook page, anyone who completed The Just Be Services survey for me was entered into a draw for a treatment of their choice with me.  The winner is Sandra Lunney and I look forward to meeting Sandra soon here at the clinic.  I also did a competition on Sharon Tucker Style Secrets page and the winner there is Lynda Vereker again for a treatment of her choice with me.  Lynda is booked in for later this month.

As you know by now I like to go out and about and during November I was in UL for BeWell@UL and the UL Christmas Market. I used to work in UL before I set up Just Be so it is always so lovely to go back and see everyone.  I’ve also been networking quite a bit with Women in Business Groups. I find they are a great support for me as I work alone at home.  I would strongly advice anyone working, living or doing anything alone to connect with others in similar circumstances for support.  It’s also a great way to meet new friends.

Staring in December, I will be taking Just Be to Adare Health Foods & Wellness Centre once a month on a Saturday.  The first available date is Saturday, 17th December 2016 from 10am – 5pm.  To book simply call me on 0868968409.

Are you looking for gift ideas this Christmas?  You can now buy a Just Be Gift Voucher online by clicking here on Gift Voucher I will post the voucher to you or a recipient within 24 hours of receiving the order.  The voucher comes beautifully gift wrapped with a ribbon with a keep sake Robin.
